Men know everything, & feminists hate women

From the article Feminists Truly Hate Women:

“Feminists are execrable yet are given the benefit of government money in our universities and places of high esteem. Today, feminists are as bad a holocaust deniers, as bad as Soviet apologists, for their willful ignorance of the oppression of women that goes on around them every day. “

Right.

The article explains a situation where a Muslim man in Jonesboro, Georgia strangled his daughter to punish her for not marrying the man he chose for her arranged marriage. The writer of the article claims that because he was unable to find sufficient feminist critiques of this situation, feminists do not give a shit about the death of a woman.

The writer focused on a woman in Georgia who claims that “Men At Work” signs are sexist, claiming that since a feminist woman raised hell about signs, feminists don’t care about the murder of women. This event is his fuel against feminist women. The article is specifically anti-feminist, but he doesn’t make mention of feminist men – making the article also anti-woman.

And while this guy is a total douchebag looking for an excuse to feminist-bash, it made me start thinking about Sensitive Feminist Men.

I think I hate Sensitive Feminist Men more than I hate this guy. Sensitive Feminist Men write feminist blogs, have feminist song lyrics in their bands, sew feminist patches onto their sweater vests, and really talk the talk about being passionate about women’s issues. They read The Ethical Slut, listen to Team Dresch, and talk about bell hooks with their girl friends. They want to be recognized and congratulated for their awareness to women’s issues. Women are supposed to look at Sensitive Feminist Men and think, “Wow, this dude is not like other dudes!”

But it’s always the Sensitive Feminist Man who wants to boast about his experiences as a Friend Of The Ladies. He’ll be really upset when asked to be quiet about his critiques of feminist writings that don’t apply to him. The Sensitive Feminist Man takes up as much space as any man, maybe even more due to all of those emotions! He’s also the first to tell a woman that she’s wrong about something, or hasn’t read as much as he has on the subject. The Sensitive Feminist Man is always way more educated than any woman, and he talks about privilege a LOT. His own. And he constantly reminds everyone how aware of his privilege he is, like, maybe should get an award for being so goddamn aware. Typically he will feel slighted when asked not to join a woman-only space because he’s “Not like other guys.” Sensitive Feminist Man will totally be up front at the girl band’s show, taking up space and dancing like a jerk, not taking the comfort of the women around into consideration. The Sensitive Feminist Man is a college-educated upper class white guy 99.99% of the time – however, he probably works a crap job and lives in a busted up apartment in a gentrified area so he can finally feel the magic of oppression that he reads about in his books.

Sensitive Feminist Men freak out bigtime when other Sensitive Feminist Men are called out on things like, I don’t know, RAPE… old timer readers of HeartattaCk Zine will remember the Chris Bonner incident. I found some reprints of the letters section of HeartattaCk to refresh your collective memories here. I wish I could find some scans of Kent McClard blowing off Dana’s accusations because we “hadn’t heard both sides of the story.” Sensitive Feminist Men still Bro Down behind the scenes.
